This helmet was done
for Pro Bicycle Racer, David Zabriskie: multiple time US National
Time Trial Champion, Stage Winner in the Tour de France, Giro
d'Italia, Vuelta a España, and the Dauphiné Libéré. This talented
racer is one of the best in our country and the world.
Dave's friend, Greg Anzalone, Co-owner of Sideshow Collectibles in
Southern California, contacted us to do this Captain America
inspired Giro Time Trial helmet for him. Being not only fans
of motorcycle racing, but long-time bicycle racing fans, we were
very excited to take on this project. We enjoyed the entire
experience, start to finish. Thanks to Greg and Dave for
letting us be a part of this personal dream-come-true!
This helmet debuted in this year's Giro d'Italia, where Dave and his
Slipstream-Chipotle H30 Pro Team won the Team Time Trial. Good
job boys!! |

This is the second helmet that we’ve done for this
gutsy woman rider. Kristen came to us with quite
possibly the most unusual requests we’ve ever been
asked to create. Many different tattoo artists
inspired the artwork. She really liked extremely
simplistic, raw line art, with a mathematical chaos
feel. There is also a Gustav Klimt-inspired area.
She wanted bold, scratchy, tattoo-themed stars. And
on this second helmet, we modified the design and
added the eye-in-the-heart representation, which
truly does embody the contagious, vibrant spirit of
this courageous woman.
Kristen is now on her fourth R1 after a horrendous
crash in turn 3 at Thunderhill race track last year,
that destroyed her bike and helmet. She had to have a
helicopter life flight her to the hospital. She lost
a month of memory, and had injuries that required
months of recovery. After her recuperation, she was
out shopping for her new R1, and came to us for this
second lid. We respect her tenacity for life and her
never-quit attitude, as well as the 21st Century role
model she is for her son.
